Role Overview

Join Rail Europe as a Senior Software Engineer in the B2C engineering team. You will design, develop, and deliver high-quality software features using Ruby on Rails, working across both backend and frontend systems while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver high-quality software features using Ruby on Rails, contributing to both backend and frontend
• Participate in all stages of the development lifecycle: technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring
• Identify and resolve technical challenges related to data flows, performance, scalability, and overall system reliability
• Integrate AI-assisted development tools into daily workflows and contribute to team adoption

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive software engineering experience
• Extensive, in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails
• Proven experience with modern frontend development
• Mandatory professional working proficiency in English (daily working language)
• Strong product mindset with fullstack capabilities (primary strength in backend, genuine interest in frontend)
• Hands-on experience using AI-powered developer tools
• Problem-solving ability with pragmatic solutions and sound technical trade-offs
• Value for code quality, testing, and long-term maintainability

Nice-to-Haves

• BSc in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field
• Experience with or strong interest in Hotwire
• Experience with PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with AWS
• Experience with Agile methodologies
