Senior Software Engineer - Backend/Python

About the Role

Join one of six cross-functional teams (CRM, Admin & Onboarding, Conversations, Messaging & Scheduling, Automations & Integrations, or Data Insights) as a Senior Backend Engineer. You'll collaborate with backend and frontend engineers, product managers, designers, and other teams in a distributed environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceive, design, build, and launch new user-facing features
• Implement new AI features to enhance customer productivity
• Improve performance and scalability of GraphQL and REST APIs
• Enhance email and calendar event syncing (millions per month)
• Work with Twilio's API, WebSockets, and WebRTC for calling features
• Build user-facing analytics with actionable sales insights
• Enhance Elasticsearch-backed search functionality
• Improve internal messaging infrastructure using Kafka and Redis
• Build and enhance integrations with SaaS platforms (Google G Suite, Zapier, web conferencing)
• Implement real-time updates using GraphQL Subscriptions
• Leverage AI/LLMs (OpenAI, Groq, AssemblyAI)
• Manage massive data processing needs (billions of documents, petabytes of traffic, 55TB logs/month)

Requirements

• Senior 1 & 2 level: 5+ years building modern back-end systems
• Strong understanding of web technologies
• Ability to work in fast-paced, small team environment
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Experience working in fully distributed teams
