About the role

Role Overview

Senior Shopify Developer responsible for the development, enhancement, and optimization of a Shopify Plus storefront for a high-growth DTC jewelry brand. This is a hands-on role requiring deep expertise in Shopify's ecosystem and understanding of the DTC business model.

Key Responsibilities

Lead development and maintenance of Shopify Plus store, ensuring scalable, performant, and reliable implementations
Build custom themes, modify existing templates, and implement features using Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and APIs
Work cross-functionally (eCommerce, Marketing, Creative, IT) to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Ensure mobile-first, responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
Optimize site speed, performance, and SEO best practices
Develop and maintain private and public Shopify apps supporting unique business processes
Integrate third-party services (ERP, CRM, fulfillment, analytics, etc.)
Stay current with Shopify platform updates and industry trends
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior developers and contractors

Required Qualifications

Proven experience customizing Shopify themes using Liquid
Frontend application development with React and Redux
Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
Hands-on experience with server-side rendering (SSR) in frameworks like Remix
Deep understanding of Shopify platform and Liquid templating
Knowledge of responsive web design (RWD) and frontend performance principles
Working knowledge of Node.js for SSR and data integration

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions
SEO best practices knowledge
Experience with GraphQL APIs
Exposure to Firebase and real-time data syncing
Knowledge of Shopify Hydrogen for headless e-commerce
Ability to write unit and integration tests for frontend components
