About the role

Role Overview

Lead the product vision, strategy, and execution of next-generation personalization systems across menu ranking, recommendations, search, predictive preferences, and adaptive UI. Own the personalization engine across the entire eater journey—from onboarding through long-term engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Define & Drive Product Strategy

  • Own the end-to-end personalization roadmap including recommendations, ranking algorithms, adaptive feed, intent modeling, and predictive food preferences
  • Build a unified personalization strategy spanning discovery, ordering, search, and post-order experiences
  • Translate customer insights and behavioral data into frameworks for personalized ordering journeys

Ship High-Impact Personalization Features

  • Partner with Engineering and ML to design, build, and iterate on personalization models
  • Launch ML-powered features: personalized ranking, contextual suggestions, food-intent clustering, dietary preference modeling, and personalization-aware UX
  • Drive experimentation, A/B testing, and offline/online model evaluation frameworks

Understand Customer Behavior

  • Develop sophisticated understanding of eater behavior patterns, including ordering signals, cuisine preferences, dietary constraints, and engagement drivers
  • Work closely with Data Science to identify behavioral segments, affinity clusters, and retention impacts

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Design to craft intuitive and adaptive user experiences (adaptive homepages, personalized filters, recommendation flows)
  • Work with Chefs and Culinary teams to incorporate menu diversity and ingredient-level signals
  • Collaborate with Growth, CRM, and Marketplace teams on personalization across acquisition, onboarding, and reactivation

Drive Measurable Business Impact

  • Improve core funnel metrics (CVR, add-to-cart rate, search success rate)
  • Lift order retention, order frequency, and net AOV across all eater segments
  • Increase long-term revenue and reduce decision friction

Requirements

  • Experience in ML-powered product development, ranking algorithms, recommendations systems, or personalization platforms
  • Analytical & Systems-Oriented: comfortable with experimentation frameworks, model evaluation, and user behavior analytics
  • Problem-Solving: skilled at simplifying complex technical problems into user-centric solutions
  • Domain Fit: excited by turning a large, dynamic food catalog into a highly personalized weekly experience
  • Collaboration: decisive and able to work cross-functionally with ML, engineering, data science, design, and culinary teams
