Senior Frontend Software Engineer

Role Overview

As a Senior Frontend Software Engineer, you will create accessible, interactive, and responsive interfaces using React, TypeScript, and Tailwind. You'll work as an equal thought partner throughout the product development process and be involved in feature releases used by tens of thousands of teachers.

Key Responsibilities

• Write performant, testable, and maintainable code to support Albert's product roadmap
• Take end-to-end ownership of features and engineering initiatives through design, implementation, testing, and maintenance
• Conduct thorough code reviews to catch issues and help teammates grow
• Lead architectural and design discussions to shape technical direction for the frontend
• Collaborate with engineers and product team to define project goals and establish milestones
• Help establish patterns and best practices for AI-assisted development within the team
• Identify and pursue opportunities to improve existing code, architecture, and developer tooling
• Uphold company core values and culture

Requirements & Experience

• Senior-level frontend development expertise with React and TypeScript
• Strong experience with Tailwind CSS or similar modern CSS frameworks
• Ability to architect frontend solutions and lead technical discussions
• Demonstrated code review and mentoring skills
• Attention to detail and quality-focused approach to software development

Nice-to-Haves

• Interest in expanding skill set into full-stack development
• Familiarity with AI development tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude Code
• Experience with the broader Albert stack (Elixir, PostgreSQL, AWS, Terraform)
• Passion for educational technology
