About the role
Role Overview
Senior Data Analyst focused on Finance & Regulatory Reporting for a fintech company bridging traditional financial systems and blockchain technology. You will transform complex transactional data into reliable, auditable, and scalable reporting solutions while ensuring data integrity and traceability for global crypto processing tools and non-custodial wallets.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting Development & Automation: Design and maintain sophisticated dashboards and regulatory reports using SQL and BI tools; automate repetitive workflows to minimize manual intervention and operational risk
- Reconciliation & Variance Analysis: Lead deterministic reconciliations between internal ledgers, payment processors, and custody systems; investigate root causes for variances and implement corrective actions
- Regulatory & Audit Support: Prepare high-quality datasets and documentation for statutory submissions and audits, ensuring all metrics are reproducible, transparent, and compliant with international standards
- Data Quality & Lineage: Define rigorous monitoring rules and document lineage of critical finance and compliance metrics to maintain a "single source of truth"
- Strategic Collaboration: Bridge Finance, Compliance, and Data Engineering to translate business needs into technical specifications and prioritize mission-critical deliverables
- Mentorship & Best Practice: Foster analytical excellence by sharing knowledge, promoting best practices, and delivering actionable insights for budgeting and forecasting
Requirements
- Experience: 4+ years in data analytics or regulatory reporting within fintech, payments, banking, or related financial services
- Technical Skills: Advanced SQL proficiency; hands-on experience with modern BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI); familiarity with dbt, Airflow, or modern data transformation stacks
- Financial Knowledge: Solid understanding of general ledger concepts, accounting principles, cut-offs, and reconciliation frameworks
- Automation: Comfortable using Python or procedural SQL to automate ETL tasks and validation rules in regulated environments
- Soft Skills: Exceptional detail orientation; ability to present complex trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders; excellent written English
- Education: Degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field preferred
