Scrum Master II

Role Overview

As a Scrum Master II at Avetta, you will take on a pivotal role in implementing the Scrum Framework and Agile processes across multiple Scrum teams. You'll empower teams to deliver exceptional solutions by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration, acting as a key facilitator ensuring a safe and efficient working environment while managing inter-team dependencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Program Leadership: Collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders (Product Managers, RTEs, Product Owners) to ensure strategic initiatives are aligned and delivered on time, focusing on program-level goals
• Agile Ceremonies: Facilitate Agile ceremonies for multiple teams and lead team breakout sessions during PI Planning to coordinate dependencies, capacity, and risks
• Mentoring: Mentor less experienced Scrum Masters, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across multiple teams
• Dependency Management: Coordinate and manage dependencies between teams, ensuring smooth delivery of large program initiatives and alignment during Scrum of Scrums
• Product Owner Support: Assist with managing product roadmaps and team backlogs across multiple teams; coach teams on backlog management, vertical slicing, and estimating practices
• Team Building: Build high-performing, self-organizing teams by creating an environment that enhances collaboration, team dynamics, and cohesion
• Impediment Resolution: Actively resolve cross-team impediments and blockers that could affect program-level progress
• Performance Tracking: Leverage Agile metrics to track performance of multiple teams and provide visibility into program progress and health
• Engineering Best Practices: Promote adoption of Agile engineering best practices (TDD, BDD, Pair Programming, CI/CD) across multiple teams
• Tool Optimization: Utilize AI-enabled Agile and productivity tools and provide hands-on Jira expertise including workflow customization, dashboard/report creation, and integration with other tools (Confluence, Aha!, GitHub)

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Project Management and Agile methodologies with proven success in scaling Agile across multiple teams
• Deep expertise in Jira administration and reporting
• Proficiency in Agile tools like Jira, Confluence, and Aha! (or similar portfolio/product management tools)
• Demonstrated success in leading multi-team Agile initiatives and managing complex dependencies
• Experience mentoring and coaching other Scrum Masters
• Strong leadership and communication skills

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with AI-driven Agile or productivity tools (e.g., AI-assisted backlog grooming, reporting, or team health insights)
• Ability to coach teams and troubleshoot tool-related challenges
