Role Overview

The Application Developer III is responsible for designing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications throughout the production lifecycle. This role involves working independently on complex software development tasks while mentoring other developers and staying current with emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, code, and test software according to functional and technical specifications that meet business requirements
• Run and monitor software performance tests to identify errors, isolate improvement areas, and debug issues
• Assist in software deployment based on build specifications
• Conduct technical code reviews of peer work to ensure proper coding methodology
• Maintain understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, and configuration management practices
• Triage and manage incident requests
• Guide other developers on coding standards, build/deploy issue resolution, and infrastructure support
• Stay current with cloud and AI technologies to optimize day-to-day work and identify automation opportunities
• Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers on technical issues

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent work experience)
• Minimum 5 years of advanced OOP principles and design experience
• Experience developing and designing n-tier applications with multi-tier architectures
• Ability to utilize cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) for application development, deployment, and management
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, presentation, facilitation)
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Effective problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to establish working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• Flexibility during organizational and business changes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading a development team
• UML Modeling experience
• Facets or Healthcare industry experience
• Experience creating dashboards with DynaTrace
• Experience with Tidal job scheduling tool
• Ability to lead technical evaluations and conduct R&D in emerging technologies
• Integration and leverage of generative AI tools for application enhancement

Work Environment

Works on non-routine tasks, applies discretion within established boundaries, and works independently with minimal direction for familiar areas. Provides technical guidance to team members and contributes to operational area goals.
