Role Overview
Expert-level Autodesk Inventor specialist needed for remote, flexible project work. This is a contract position ideal for experienced CAD professionals seeking to work 10–40 hours per week on diverse design and engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and optimize 3D models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor for manufacturing and product development
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate design concepts into detailed technical drawings and prototypes
- Analyze design challenges and recommend solutions to enhance functionality and efficiency
- Ensure all design documentation and schematics meet industry standards and project specifications
- Provide mentorship and technical support to peers and junior designers
- Participate in design reviews, offering constructive feedback and ensuring project alignment with business goals
- Maintain clear, professional written and verbal communication throughout all project phases
Required Qualifications
- Expert proficiency in Autodesk Inventor for 3D modeling, assembly, and detailed drawing production
- Experience in engineering or product design environments with a strong project portfolio
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and materials
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a remote work setting
- Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive approach to technical challenges
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional and remote teams
Nice-to-Haves
- Certification in Autodesk Inventor or related CAD software
- Background in mechanical, industrial, or product design engineering
- Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems and digital workflow optimization
