Principal Product Manager (R13684)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Principal Product Manager to drive innovation at Oportun and lead our multi-year journey leveraging Gen AI and advanced technology to enhance business growth, performance, and customer experience. You will own product strategy execution, define long-term direction, and lead ideation through development, launch, and scaling of innovative products that improve customers' financial lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to craft long-term product strategy
• Scope and lead development of new product features that improve financial health of users
• Analyze data and perform user research to form and test hypotheses, building deep understanding of customer needs and behaviors
• Manage high-performing cross-functional product teams including engineering, design, data, marketing, legal, and customer support
• Drive strong communication and alignment across the organization

Requirements

• Experience: 7-10+ years of product management experience in high-growth environments; financial services industry experience (FinTech, challenger banking) highly preferred
• Customer Focus: Passionate about improving financial health of members
• Analytical Skills: Strong experience with complex problem-solving, data-informed decision making, testing, experimentation, metrics definition, and data analysis
• Collaboration: Proven track record shipping impactful products requiring cross-functional partnership and consensus-building
• Communication: Clear, concise communicator with excellent documentation skills
• Execution: Scrappy, solution-oriented mindset with ability to navigate obstacles and deliver value
