About the role

Role Overview

Principal Product Designer leading omni-channel experience design for the Loyalty & Credit Squad at DICK'S Sporting Goods. You'll shape the complete customer lifecycle from acquisition through servicing, partnering closely with business, product, and engineering teams to translate market trends and athlete insights into intuitive member experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Journey Leadership: Lead design efforts for complex, multi-portfolio initiatives spanning app, web, store, and partner touchpoints
  • Omni-Channel Design: Think through omni-channel considerations across end-to-end experiences in co-creation with business partners
  • Journey Management: Work alongside Experience Leads to ensure comprehensive journey documentation (lifecycle, macro, and micro frameworks)
  • Human-Centered Advocacy: Expand team understanding of human-centered design principles and influence HCD practices across multiple products
  • Research & Evidence: Guide teams on mixed-methods research approaches proportional to business/customer risk
  • Discovery: Lead problem-solving frameworks leveraging mixed-methods research to identify users, journeys, and top problems
  • Experimentation: Foster a learning culture with validation methods including prototype testing, A/B testing, and usability testing
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Guide teams to leverage mixed-methods insights to drive decisions
  • Design System: Utilize Homefield (in-house design system) to communicate design solutions

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a design leader/principal designer managing complex, multi-product initiatives
  • Strong expertise in omni-channel retail experience design
  • Human-centered design methodology experience
  • Ability to set and articulate clear customer-centered vision
  • Experience with research, experimentation, and data-driven design
  • Demonstrated influence and partnership-building across cross-functional teams
  • Design system knowledge preferred
