Role Overview
As a Platform Engineer, you will own the infrastructure powering a next-generation financial connectivity platform for SMEs across Europe. This is a high-impact role bridging regulated financial infrastructure and modern software engineering, working in a distributed-first environment to design systems from scratch and remove technical bottlenecks.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Orchestration: Architect and manage robust cloud infrastructure using AWS and Kubernetes to ensure high availability and scalability of financial services
- Developer Experience & Tooling: Build and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, internal platforms, and developer tools to streamline deployment
- System Ownership: Own production systems end-to-end, from initial design decisions to proactive incident response and resolution
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with product and business teams to identify technical friction points and implement solutions for faster feature delivery
- Standards & Security: Evaluate and integrate new services while maintaining rigorous standards for security, observability, and system reliability
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS)
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code; strong foundational software engineering principles (primary stack: Kotlin and TypeScript)
- Pragmatic problem-solving approach focused on simple, effective solutions over over-engineered ones
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong growth mindset with track record of driving projects from idea to production
Nice-to-Have
- Previous exposure to financial services, payment systems, or regulated environments
- Experience managing microservices on the JVM runtime
