Role Overview

Join CSPLab as a Senior Backend/Data Engineering Developer. You'll work on automating data ingestion and transformation, developing a documented public API, and ensuring regulatory compliance and security across the stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop automation for data ingestion, cleaning, and transformation pipelines
• Build and maintain a public, documented API to accelerate stakeholder onboarding
• Ensure regulatory compliance (GDPR, etc.) and security best practices at every stage
• Work closely with the tech team in a collaborative environment

Required Skills

Technical:

• Significant experience with Python development with typed objects and interfaces
• PostgreSQL expertise
• Data pipeline experience (ingestion, cleaning, reconciliation of heterogeneous sources, data transformation)
• Monitoring and handling high-volume data processing
• Django with high-stakes requirements (traffic, security, personal data handling), DRF, and HTMX
• DevOps experience with PaaS platforms (e.g., Scalingo)

Soft Skills:

• Significant experience working in teams of 6+ developers and/or on large projects
• Appreciation for proven best practices and established tools
• Ability to defend your viewpoint while integrating stakeholder feedback
• "Keep it simple" philosophy—don't reinvent the wheel

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Open-source project experience
• Previous experience with Beta Gouv and/or French public administration
• Airflow experience
• NLP and embeddings experience (ideally with Spacy)
• Knowledge of public data challenges (GDPR, interoperability, open data)
• Familiarity with DSFR
• Metabase experience
