About the role
Role Overview
Manager, Software Engineering (Fraud) - Lead a dynamic team of 6 engineers on Affirm's Fraud Platform team, building next-generation fraud decisioning systems. You'll directly drive how Affirm protects itself and clients from bad actors while working in a remote-first environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Machine Learning, Compliance, Operations, and other engineering managers to develop long-term technical roadmaps
- Recruit and hire talented engineers while maintaining a high technical bar
- Coach, develop, and retain team members with thoughtful feedback
- Establish OKRs and KPIs to set engineering team direction and measure success
- Conduct specification and architecture reviews
- Build strong engineering culture around innovation, accountability, empathy, and execution
What We're Looking For
Experience:
- 2-3+ years managing high-performing engineering teams
- Past experience in Fraud/Risk/Financial systems (plus)
- Past experience building platform solutions (plus)
- Solid engineering fundamentals with real-world experience building scalable distributed backend services
Qualities:
- Track record of successful cross-functional collaboration with product managers, business partners, and engineering counterparts

Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT): $225,000 - $275,000/year
- Base pay range (all other U.S. states): $200,000 - $250,000/year
