About the role
Role Overview
Lead Product Manager to own end-to-end strategy, roadmap, and execution for Product Recommendations—a critical pillar enabling personalized, high-performing messaging for ecommerce brands. This role has broad surface area including product catalog ingestion, recommendation algorithms embedded in messages, product affinity targeting strategies, and customer-facing tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategy and execution for how Attentive ingests, normalizes, and structures product catalog data to power intelligent recommendations and segmentation
- Partner with Data Science to define roadmap for algorithmic recommendation strategies within messages and across channels
- Own all UI/UX features that help customers understand, configure, and test recommendations
- Craft and drive a multi-year strategy for product recommendations
- Translate ambiguous customer needs and competitive signals into clear, prioritized roadmaps
- Partner closely with Data Science, Engineering, Design, and GTM teams to deliver high-impact features
- Develop objective frameworks for measuring model performance, customer adoption, and trust
- Operate with high autonomy, making crisp decisions and tradeoffs in complex scenarios
- Serve as internal evangelist for Product Recommendations, enabling CS, Sales, and Marketing teams
- Help customers understand effectiveness of recommendations and optimal use cases
- Support experiments, betas, and staged rollouts with measurement rigor and quality
Required Expertise
- 5–8+ years of Product Management experience, ideally with product recommendations
- Experience shipping algorithm-driven and/or personalization products at scale
- Strong product sense with ability to simplify complexity into clear, actionable roadmaps
- Fluency partnering with Data Science teams—comfortable setting goals, reviewing model outputs, and translating performance into roadmap decisions
- Proven track record of driving adoption, crafting compelling narratives, and enabling GTM success
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive presence
- Deep understanding of ecommerce ecosystem, especially product feeds, personalization engines, and customer lifecycle marketing
