About the role

Role Overview

Lead Product Manager to own end-to-end strategy, roadmap, and execution for Product Recommendations—a critical pillar enabling personalized, high-performing messaging for ecommerce brands. This role has broad surface area including product catalog ingestion, recommendation algorithms embedded in messages, product affinity targeting strategies, and customer-facing tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy and execution for how Attentive ingests, normalizes, and structures product catalog data to power intelligent recommendations and segmentation
  • Partner with Data Science to define roadmap for algorithmic recommendation strategies within messages and across channels
  • Own all UI/UX features that help customers understand, configure, and test recommendations
  • Craft and drive a multi-year strategy for product recommendations
  • Translate ambiguous customer needs and competitive signals into clear, prioritized roadmaps
  • Partner closely with Data Science, Engineering, Design, and GTM teams to deliver high-impact features
  • Develop objective frameworks for measuring model performance, customer adoption, and trust
  • Operate with high autonomy, making crisp decisions and tradeoffs in complex scenarios
  • Serve as internal evangelist for Product Recommendations, enabling CS, Sales, and Marketing teams
  • Help customers understand effectiveness of recommendations and optimal use cases
  • Support experiments, betas, and staged rollouts with measurement rigor and quality

Required Expertise

  • 5–8+ years of Product Management experience, ideally with product recommendations
  • Experience shipping algorithm-driven and/or personalization products at scale
  • Strong product sense with ability to simplify complexity into clear, actionable roadmaps
  • Fluency partnering with Data Science teams—comfortable setting goals, reviewing model outputs, and translating performance into roadmap decisions
  • Proven track record of driving adoption, crafting compelling narratives, and enabling GTM success
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive presence
  • Deep understanding of ecommerce ecosystem, especially product feeds, personalization engines, and customer lifecycle marketing
