About the role
Role overview
Trustly is seeking a Lead Product Manager (Consumer Cards) to own the product strategy and delivery for a new open-banking-powered consumer card. This is a greenfield (0-1) initiative, bringing Trustly’s pay-by-bank capabilities directly to consumers via card with a mobile-first experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead a cross-functional team to develop a new consumer payment option from strategy through execution (product planning, roadmap, and GTM strategy).
- Use consumer psychology and behavioral science to identify customer problems and inform product decisions.
- Define and manage product economics (balancing customer value with business goals), including cost structure across rails and bank integrations.
- Define key product metrics, monitor performance over time, and run hypothesis-driven experiments to validate impact.
- Partner with design to deliver exceptional mobile-first UX.
- Partner with engineering to assess feasibility and drive end-to-end feature delivery with a focus on speed, while maintaining quality, security, and compliance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across marketing, operations, risk, and compliance to move from concept to launch.
- Stay current on payments and UX trends, and track competitive developments.
- Apply product frameworks to justify prioritization.
- Promote a writing culture with concise PRDs that clearly explain the WHY using customer insight and data.
- Evangelize product-led thinking and help shape product/design culture.
Requirements
- 6+ years of product management experience with consumer payment infrastructure providers (e.g., wallet partners, bank partners, BaaS platforms, Apple Pay/Android Pay, issuer processors, non-card networks).
- Deep understanding of the card issuance ecosystem, including issuer processors, sponsor banks, and card networks.
- Experience navigating and optimizing card product economics (e.g., interchange, authorization/fees; text truncated in posting).
Nice-to-haves (implied)
- Experience working in/with open banking payments and launching new consumer fintech products.
