Lead DevOps Engineer (100% Remote)

Role Overview

Lead DevOps Engineer responsible for architecting and maintaining critical infrastructure at Tether, a leading fintech company. This is a leadership role managing a team of DevOps specialists while hands-on technical implementation of modern deployment systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide DevOps specialists, promote best practices, documentation, and knowledge sharing
• CI/CD Architecture: Design and implement end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for rapid and reliable software delivery
• Infrastructure Management: Oversee server system administration including configuration, monitoring, patching, and troubleshooting
• Monitoring & Observability: Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively detect issues and maintain system health
• Test-Driven Deployment: Design and enforce automated testing at every stage to maintain code quality and accelerate feedback loops
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Dev, QA, and Management teams to enhance deployment quality and system stability
• Industry Leadership: Stay current on DevOps trends and evaluate new tools and processes

Requirements

• 7+ years in DevOps/Infrastructure roles
• 2-3 years in leadership or technical lead capacity
• Deep expertise in Docker (image creation, registry management, orchestration patterns)
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript package management and NPM publishing workflows
• Strong understanding of semantic versioning
• Extensive Linux system administration and networking knowledge
• Experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipeline design
• Experience automating mobile app build processes
• Excellent English communication skills

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with containerization orchestration beyond basic patterns
• Knowledge of blockchain or fintech technologies
