About the role

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer/Developer with extensive Java expertise to join our remote team. This role combines software development with infrastructure automation, working across the full lifecycle of Java-based applications from development through production maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the complete lifecycle of Java-based applications: development, deployment, and production maintenance
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and release processes
  • Containerize and orchestrate Java applications using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Ensure scalable application deployment across cloud and on-premise infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Implement and monitor observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) for system performance and application metrics
  • Optimize Java backend services for performance, resource utilization, and low latency
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve and accelerate code deployment to production
  • Ensure deployment stability and security through automated testing, security checks, and rollback mechanisms

Required Qualifications

  • Multiple years of experience as a Java Developer with strong knowledge of microservices and distributed systems
  • Solid DevOps practices and infrastructure automation experience
  • Proficiency with build tools (Maven or Gradle)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Travis CI)
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform or Ansible)
  • Security and performance optimization mindset
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills
