IRS - Jr. Information Security Analyst

Role Overview

Jr. Information Security Analyst supporting the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on a remote basis. This position requires an active Public Trust clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct technology risk assessments covering web services, network appliances, and software
• Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) Plan development
• Perform security architecture analysis and system modeling
• Assist with security engineering and assessment activities
• Work with IRS Enterprise Lifecycle and OneSDLC processes
• Support technology security assessments and compliance reviews

Required Qualifications

• Active Public Trust clearance (mandatory)
• 1-3 years of professional experience in information security, cyber risk management, or network defense (may include internships, co-ops, or hands-on cybersecurity training)
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical field
• CompTIA Security+ CE certification (or equivalent)
• Knowledge of FISMA, NIST Special Publications, OMB, and Risk Management Framework (RMF)
• IT security knowledge and experience with technology risk assessments

Preferred Qualifications

• Network+, CEH, or CAP certifications
• Professional certifications from (ISC)², ISA, PMI, CompTIA, or SANS Institute
• Experience with IRS infrastructure, technologies, and support systems
• Knowledge of System Interconnections (VPN, encryption technologies)
• Cloud systems, CSPs, and FedRAMP requirements experience
• Familiarity with Qmulos Q-Compliance, SharePoint, scanning tools, ServiceNow GRC, or SPLUNK
• Security architecture principles and system modeling knowledge
