Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Go Developer to join our Platform Engineering team. This pivotal role focuses on architecting, developing, and refining Go-based Kubernetes controllers and operators to advance our internal GitOps-driven Kubernetes hosting platform. You will play a critical role in automating infrastructure and platform operations while driving best practices in testing and observability across a cloud-native environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and Develop: Design, implement, and maintain Kubernetes controllers and operators written in Go to enhance our internal GitOps-based Kubernetes hosting platform
• Automation Services: Develop automation services integrated with GitHub APIs to streamline workflows, enforce policies, and improve developer experience
• Developer Tools: Build and maintain developer-facing CLI tools that simplify platform interaction and improve productivity
• Policy Enforcement: Enforce policy compliance through API-level validation mechanisms to ensure security and governance standards
• Testing & Observability: Champion Shift Left and Shift Right testing methodologies, embedding static analysis, contract testing, and observability throughout the development lifecycle
• Infrastructure Automation: Drive CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, Azure DevOps, and Docker to automate infrastructure provisioning and application delivery
• Observability: Monitor and enhance platform observability using Prometheus and OpenTelemetry to ensure reliability and performance
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Collaborate with platform engineers, developers, and security experts; lead technical discussions and mentor junior engineers
• Stay Current: Keep informed on emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve platform capabilities

Required Skills & Experience

• Go: Expert-level proficiency in Go programming language with demonstrated experience developing Kubernetes controllers and operators; ability to write clean, efficient, maintainable code
• Kubernetes: Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture, resource management, extensibility, and custom controller/operator development
• GitOps: Hands-on experience with GitOps principles and tools for declarative infrastructure and application management
• GitHub API: Proficient in leveraging GitHub APIs to build automation services and enforce policies programmatically
• CI/CD: Deep knowledge of continuous integration and deployment pipelines, particularly Azure DevOps and Terraform
• Terraform: Skilled in writing and managing Terraform configurations for cloud infrastructure provisioning and management
• Azure: Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services including container orchestration, networking, and security
• Docker: Proficient in containerization concepts and Docker tooling
• Policy Automation & API Validation: Proven track record designing automated policy enforcement and API validation strategies
• Static Analysis: Familiarity with static code analysis tools and techniques
