Engineering Manager - Competitive

Role Overview

We're hiring an Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers building Hudl's core products for the Competitive market in the U.S., serving high schools and clubs. You'll guide a full-stack team delivering coach and athlete performance analysis, fan engagement, and video livestreaming solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive technical strategy: Ensure your team's vision aligns with Hudl's overall mission of empowering athletes and coaches; define engineering efforts and maintain competitive advantage
• Deliver high-impact work: Focus on outcomes over outputs; make data-driven decisions and iterate quickly on feedback
• Lead cross-functional collaboration: Work with leaders from various disciplines to plan and deliver product enhancements
• Empower and develop engineers: Coach 4-8 Software Engineers; foster continuous growth and professional development
• Champion Agile practices: Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies and ensure team efficiency

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience with cloud technology and highly scalable software solutions
• Track record of scaling efficiently and handling large volumes of data
• Ability to set technical direction and guide teams toward successful outcomes
• Experience facilitating design sessions, creating architectural diagrams, and evaluating technical/process risks
• Strong mentoring capabilities and ability to support professional development
• Excellent communication and cross-functional stakeholder management skills

Nice-to-Haves

• Formal managerial experience with career coaching and performance management
• Professional background in C#, React, React-Native, MongoDB, or AWS
• Experience collaborating with Product Managers on roadmap development
• Familiarity with adjacent languages, frameworks, and services used at scale
