About the role
Role Overview
Engineering Manager responsible for technical leadership and personnel management within the Technical Services team. This is a fully remote position with a preference for candidates located in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Requires holding at least a Top-Secret security clearance.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage and mentor a workgroup of engineers delivering across Technical Services projects
- Develop team members by providing opportunities, timely feedback, and clear expectations
- Coach and provide remote training during customer engagements
- Support staffing decisions and ensure team members' goals and career development are considered
- Pair resources strategically and provide mentorship throughout engagements
Quality & Delivery Oversight
- Ensure testing, analysis, and approach methodologies are documented, updated, and enforced
- Conduct preliminary and comprehensive review of project deliverables for quality and requirements alignment
- Enable QA review process before customer delivery
- Review daily status reports for technical quality and provide guidance for improvements
- Participate in engagement kickoffs and closeouts (calls, presentations, onsite meetings)
Methodologies & Processes
- Create, build, and execute systematic delivery methodologies for consistent client satisfaction
- Ensure resources and tools used by consultants are current and accurate
- Maintain and enforce checklists and standards across the practice
- Collaborate with Services Operations team on staffing and resource allocation
Client & Opportunity Management
- Participate in customer engagements as a billable resource to ensure technical standards and consultant development
- Work with account teams and practice stakeholders to identify and track customer opportunities
- Coach consultants on opportunity identification performance
- Help craft appropriate materials and presentations for client interactions
Training & Development
- Work with consultants on annual training goals and planning
- Ensure adequate resources and delivery plans are in place for successful scope execution
Requirements
- Hold at least a Top-Secret security clearance
- Experience in technical leadership and personnel management
- Proven ability to develop and mentor engineering teams
- Strong understanding of service delivery methodologies and quality assurance
- Experience with project deliverable review and quality oversight
- Ability to work effectively with both technical teams and client stakeholders
