About the role
Role Overview
The DevSecOps SRE plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing the networking infrastructure while integrating DevSecOps principles. This position collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of security, development, and operations processes throughout the network infrastructure lifecycle.
Primary Responsibilities
- Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices: set and maintain service-level objectives (SLOs), automate operational tasks, and conduct root cause analysis for incidents
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
- Manage and optimize AWS cloud environments including compute, storage, networking, database, and security services
- Implement and manage security measures throughout the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and code reviews
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate security practices into CI/CD pipelines and automate security testing processes
- Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability; proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure optimal uptime
- Configure and manage networking components, including firewalls, VPNs, and DNS
- Utilize monitoring and logging tools such as Sumo Logic to gather insights and troubleshoot issues
- Manage, maintain, and support Linux production environment and office infrastructure
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in DevOps, security, and cloud computing
Required Experience
- 3-5+ years as an AWS environment administrator
- 3-5+ years as a Linux systems administrator
- Experience with migrating applications to AWS
- AWS SysOps Administrator certification or equivalent experience
- Terraform experience (required)
- Scripting ability with PHP, Python, Ruby, and Bash
- Hands-on experience supporting Fortinet switches and firewalls or similar
Preferred Experience
- 3-5+ years of network administration experience
- Bitbucket Pipelines experience
- CloudFormation configuration experience
- CloudFront experience
- 1-3 years with security tools such as CrowdStrike and Zscaler
- Basic database skills
- Google Workspace management experience
- SAML SSO application management experience
