Data Scientist (CDI)

Role Overview

Join Elax Énergie's R&D team as a Data Scientist to develop and improve algorithms that optimize energy savings, user comfort, and electrical flexibility revenue. Your work will have direct impact on electrical grid performance and solution effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze telemetry data from devices; clean, structure, and prepare data for model training
• Develop and improve algorithms optimizing the balance between energy savings, user comfort, and electrical flexibility revenue
• Collaborate closely with the Product team on implementing new customer services
• Work with the Data Platform team on data exploitation
• Maintain rigorous model validation and detection of data leakage/overfitting

Requirements

• 5-7 years of applied Data Science experience, ideally in start-up/scale-up environments with real production data
• Bac +5 degree in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent
• Strong expertise in time series modeling and/or IoT field data (noisy data, failing sensors, missing values)
• Proficiency with Python data stack: pandas, numpy, scikit-learn
• Solid SQL skills and experience with MongoDB or BigQuery
• Rigorous approach to model validation with understanding of temporal validation, data leakage detection, and overfitting prevention

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience in adjacent physical domains (energy, industry, IoT, building)
• Proficiency with AI tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot) and ability to critically evaluate their outputs
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with non-data teams (Product, Ops, Dev)
