Consultant Infrastructure Developer (DevOps)

Role Overview

Consultant Infrastructure Developer (DevOps) at Thoughtworks, a leading global technology consultancy. You will take a multifaceted approach to helping clients achieve technical excellence by assessing challenges from both technical and operational perspectives. This role combines hands-on implementation with thought leadership in DevOps, cloud, and infrastructure engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Delivery: Launch projects through hands-on implementation and evaluate/drive improvements to existing infrastructure
• Solution Design: Listen to client needs, formulate technical roadmaps, and implement impactful solutions supporting ambitious business goals
• Practice Development: Shape and build Thoughtworks' cloud and infrastructure practice through collaboration with business development, marketing, and capabilities teams
• Continuous Delivery: Ensure and build controls and processes for continuous delivery of applications across all stages and automation
• Quality Assurance: Monitor and ensure technical expectations of deliverables are consistently met on projects
• Thought Leadership: Act as a thought leader on DevOps, cloud, and infrastructure engineering at client sites and within Thoughtworks
• Client Partnerships: Establish trusting partnerships with client CIOs, CTOs, and relevant teams
• Innovation: Adjust and suggest innovative solutions to current constraints and business policies

Technical Requirements

• Design and architect enterprise and/or web-scale hosting platforms; administer application servers, web servers, and databases
• Deep understanding of cloud and virtualization platforms, infrastructure automation, and application hosting technologies
• Strong grasp of DevOps philosophy, Agile methods, and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with server virtualization, IaaS, PaaS cloud, infrastructure provisioning, and configuration management tools
• Scripting capability in at least one language; comfortable building Linux and/or Windows servers
• Experience with continuous integration tools across different tech stacks (web or mobile)
• Working knowledge of monitoring systems for stress/performance testing and observability patterns (Distributed Tracing, Log Aggregation, Exception Tracking, Health Check APIs, Application Metrics, Self-Healing/Multi-Cloud)
• Bonus: Unit testing and automated testing tools experience

• Ability to partner with infrastructure technicians, support/network analysts, security analysts, system administrators, and IT managers
