AWS Cloud Solutions Architect

Role Overview

Fully remote, full-time position leading the conceptualization, design, and implementation of modern software development and cloud architectures for government agencies. You will serve as a strategic liaison between business units and technical teams, ensuring solutions align with customer business goals while integrating with existing systems.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Development

• Develop comprehensive solution architectures aligned with business objectives and technological advancements
• Collaborate with project teams to create customized solutions addressing specific business challenges
• Assist in setup and maintenance of cloud infrastructure using AWS
• Develop and deploy Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation

Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment
• Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements and feedback from key stakeholders

Technology Evaluation and Integration

• Evaluate existing systems and propose enhancements or integrations
• Assess potential technology partners and vendors to support solution development

Documentation and Knowledge Transfer

• Develop detailed documentation including architectural diagrams and technical specifications
• Facilitate knowledge transfer through training and workshops

Compliance and Governance

• Ensure solutions adhere to industry standards and organizational policies
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements

Performance Monitoring and Optimization

• Monitor performance of implemented solutions and optimize as necessary
• Troubleshoot and resolve post-implementation issues with IT teams

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Stay current with emerging technologies and trends
• Advocate for adoption of best practices in solution architecture

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Master's degree or professional certifications preferred

Certifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (minimum requirement)
• Additional certifications in DevOps or SRE practices preferred (e.g., Docker Certified Associate, Certified Kubernetes Administrator)

Work Authorization

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or EAD)
• Must have lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years
• No sponsorship available

Clearance

• Public Trust Clearance required or ability to obtain
