Associate Creative Director, Design

Role Overview

Associate Creative Director, Design at Whatnot's creative team, responsible for building the brand and crafting best-in-class creative across physical and digital experiences. You'll lead strategy, development, and execution of physical and digital events that resonate with diverse communities, working at the intersection of brand design and experiential marketing.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with category and marketing teams to develop and execute campaign strategies and design directions supporting business goals
• Oversee end-to-end campaign processes from initial concepts to final handoff, maintaining high standards for craft
• Manage and mentor a team of designers, providing guidance and feedback to foster collaborative creative excellence
• Lead brainstorming and ideation sessions, develop creative briefs, and generate new concepts for event campaigns
• Develop and execute successful marketing and brand strategies and identity systems across physical and digital surfaces
• Stay ahead of trends, emerging platforms, and creative best practices to keep events fresh, effective, and culturally resonant
• Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including agencies and contractors to scale creative production

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in design, brand, and experiential creative roles
• 2-4+ years in a lead design role with independent concepting, designing, and executing projects (not just overseeing)
• Proven track record developing and executing successful marketing and brand strategies and identity systems
• Experience building and evolving brand systems in digitally native, social-first contexts
• In-house experience at a multi-sided brand or marketplace preferred
• Understanding of how design performs in feeds, on platforms, and in culture
• Experience leading creative teams through campaigns from idea to execution
