About the role
Role Overview
The Analytics Engineer is an integral member of the data analytics organization, responsible for optimizing and monitoring the retrieval, storage, and distribution of large data sets to enable data-driven business processes and deliver actionable business insights through dashboards, reports, and self-service visualization tools.
Responsibilities
- Optimize data retrieval, develop data set processes and algorithms, and identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality
- Develop, construct, test, and maintain data architecture, ELT processes, logical and physical data models, data marts, metadata repositories, and data warehouse designs aligned with business requirements
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify needs and opportunities for improved delivery, business processes automation, and understand underlying data resources to deliver actionable insights
- Work with team members to ensure seamless transition between databases and user-facing applications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, applied mathematics, engineering, or IT-related field (or equivalent education/work experience); High School diploma or GED required
- 2+ years of experience in data analytics engineering with experience in business intelligence, data warehousing, or analytics
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
Additional Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain cloud technologies
- Understanding of relational and dimensional modeling for data wrangling and exploration
- Ability to review and translate data models
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and ELT implementations with RDBMS/NoSQL databases experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of Pharmacy Benefit Management/Healthcare ecosystem
- Programming experience with Python and R
- Experience with multiple relational database platforms such as Teradata
- Experience building and maintaining data and analytics systems using common BI tools and cloud products
- Programming in mainstream languages with basic UNIX familiarity
